YOLANDA CARAWAY

Co-Founder, Chair, Rise United Network, Inc.

Yolanda has dedicated more than 4 decades to the advancement of progressive issues and played key roles in Democratic politics. Yolanda is an advisor to numerous national leaders, organizations, companies and causes. The book she coauthored, “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Politics” won an NAACP Image Award in 2019.

JASON LLORENZ

Co-Founder, Executive Director

Jason is a passionate believer in the power of the creator generation to lead our politics. Jason has worked across nonprofit, business and government for more than 25 years, and serves as Rise United’s Founding Executive Director.

KAREN FINNEY

Vice Chair

Karen is a respected commentator, leading political and communications strategist and thought leader working at the intersection of politics, media and cultural change for over 30 years. Her unique career includes roles as top Democratic communications strategist and spokesperson; political commentator for CNN and MSNBC; television and radio host; inspirational public speaker; Senior business and communications advisor; political polling and research; advocate for social justice and civil rights; and White House staffer. She brings a diverse combination of skills and experience to her current work as a political commentator for CNN, columnist and consultant working with non-profit, for-profit, and political clients.

ALLYN BROOKS-LASURE

Board Chair, RU Education Fund, Inc.

With over 25 years of experience, Allyn Brooks-LaSure is the Chief Communications Officer at RWJF, where he leads programs to advance health equity. His distinguished career includes serving as the Executive Vice President for Communications at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights during the first Trump term. Previously, as a U.S. State Department foreign service officer, he managed communications for the U.S. Special Envoy for Climate Change, including for the 2015 Paris climate negotiations. He has also held senior roles with the Environmental Protection Agency, two U.S. Senators, and is a graduate of The Citadel.
